Be A Climate Advocate

Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and we all have a role to play in addressing it. One way to make a difference is by becoming a climate advocate. This can involve voting for leaders who prioritize climate action, writing to legislators and government officials to express your concerns, and joining local organizations that are working to make a positive impact in your community. By taking action, we can all help to create a more sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.

CAN Action Carousel

We have collaborated with Climate Action Now (CAN) to add a new climate advocacy tool to our website:  the "CAN Action Carousel". The CAN Carousel aims to exponentially expand the amount of citizen climate advocacy in the U.S. by making it easy to take lots of climate actions in a matter of minutes.

Choose from hundreds of available climate actions to send to decision-makers. The actions can be taken in a matter of seconds, and there are also articles and videos to learn about our environment and how we can protect it.

Plastics Reduction Petition

The NC legislature passed, in the 2023 budget, an amendment forbidding plastic bans in counties and municipalities.
In order to address the problem of unnecessary single-use plastics: utensils, straws, cups, containers and bags - that end up on roadsides, streams, oceans and landfills and last for hundreds of years - we, the undersigned, actual and potential patrons of Moore County restaurants, groceries and retail stores must request that you businesses.

Give Your Neighbor a Bag

Offer one of your reusable bags to the person in front of you at the grocery checkout: “If I give you this bag, will you use and reuse it, to reduce plastic pollution?” If they say no, offer to the person behind you. If they say yes, give them one of your bags, with a bag stuffer linked below, you can print. Consider buying another bag for next time, or contact us for another bag for free!

Be A Climate-Conscious Voter!

Why is voting of utmost importance? We need to vote for leaders who support critical changes to save our environment NOW! We can’t do this ourselves - the plastic industry has been putting the blame on us for not ‘recycling right’ for too long! We need laws, restrictions and bans to save our planet and ourselves!
